Secretmsg processes data required for operation of the user account, private communication, file transfer, profile discoverability and settings management.

Account and profile

Server services are used for registration and sign-in. In connection with the account, login and profile data in particular may be processed. The user decides which supported profile data may be searchable by other users.

Messages and files

Messages, metadata and files are used to operate the application and manage communication. Secretmsg uses encryption mechanisms for communication. The user is responsible for protecting their device, locally stored messages, files and backups.

Server services

The project uses server services for account functions and the server-side part of communication and file transfer. The scope of processing depends on the specific feature used by the user.

Account and data deletion

The user can manage and delete their account through the Secretmsg application. More information is available on the Account and data deletion.
